Dr Bishal Gyawali - Queen's University, Kingston, Canada

Dr Bishal Gyawali talks to ecancer about the peer review process and shares his advice on how to be a good peer reviewer.

He begins by explaining how actively engaging in peer reviewing can be rewarding and important for early career researchers.

Dr Gyawali believes that the most important principle in this process is to 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' and to recall your own personal experience as an author being peer reviewed before peer reviewing yourself.

He encourages giving feedback in a positive way and to help the author in making the paper as good as it can possibly be.
