Dr Bishal Gyawali speaks to ecancer about how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting cancer care and evidence based medicine.

He begins by explaining that although there are many negative impacts, some changes made through necessity are having a benefit for cancer patients.

He explains that patients having as much care at home as possible and reducing low value practice are among the positive influences.

Dr Gyawali also discusses how, due to the pressure of the pandemic, the suggestion of some treatments does not follow the principles of evidence based medicine.

He hopes that we can continue the positive changes beyond the pandemic.
