ASCO's strategic plan for cancer care in LMICs
Ntokozo Ndlovu speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about the radiotherapy facilities available in Africa.
She explains that the standard of these facilities vary considerably between countries and discusses the ongoing efforts that aim to address this.
Ntokozo also mentions that the some patients may be fearful of these procedures and emphasises that education is key to change these attitudes.
She states that more countries in Africa are now setting up adequate facilities and awareness amongst healthcare professionals about these treatments is improving.
