Dr Ahlam Dohal speaks to ecancer at the BGICC 2020 conference in Cairo, Egypt about radiation oncology in Saudi Arabia.
She mentions that significant advances have been made in this field over the last 10 years, leading to an increased number of radiation oncologists and specialised centres equipped with the latest technologies.
Dr Dohal describes some of the challenges surrounding access to treatment, including those patients that live in rural areas, as these centres are typically located in bigger cities.
She explains that satellite centres are being created in Saudi Arabia to create easy access for patients.
