Prostate cancer
Dr Elena Sperk speaks to ecancer about the TARGIT-E study which was a prospective, multicentric single arm phase II study based on the protocol of the international TARGIT-A study.
The aim of the TARGIT-E study was to confirm the efficacy of a single dose of intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) in a well selected group of elderly patients with small breast cancer and absence of risk factors. Dr Sperk explores the study design.
She then discusses the results of the study and explores how these results could impact the future treatment of breast cancer.
