Dr Richard Berman - The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, UK

Dr Richard Berman speaks to ecancer at UKONS 2019 in Telford about his workshop on enhanced supportive care.

Dr Berman says that enhanced supportive care is an initiative focused on implementing supportive care in cancer centres. He explains that the term refers to the prevention and management of the adverse effects of cancer and cancer treatments.

He reports that the pilot service demonstrated that earlier intervention helped to prevent problems from escalating and that there were cost benefits through reducing emergency care.
