Dr Raul Cordoba speaks to ecancer at the SIOG 2019 meeting in Geneva about haematological malignancies in older patients.

He explains the appropriate diagnostic techniques and how to identify which treatment is best to use, along with supportive care methods depending on frailty.

Dr Cordoba says one of the challenges is this proper identification and classification of patients, and the geriatric assessment continues to make this easier - if a geriatrician is based in the institution this becomes a lot easier.

He finalises by explaining some of the exciting data coming through including a reduced dose of chemotherapy for certain patients.
