Prof Tanya Wildes - Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, USA

Prof Tanya Wildes speaks to ecancer at the SIOG 2019 meeting in Geneva about validated tools for geriatric assessment and how to use them.

She describes some of the tools available for screening patients who might benefit from a comprehensive geriatric assessment and tools that identify patients who are at greater risk for chemotherapy toxicities.

Prof Wildes explains that the goal of the session was to help clinicians identify resources and approaches to assessing an older adults with cancer that could be easily implemented in their clinic.

She also covers the challenges to accessing these tools in low-middle income countries.
