Prof Rowan Chlebowski speaks to ecancer at the 2019 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) meeting about the trends in breast cancer incidence and risk within different ethnic groups across the US.

Prof Chlebowski describes the past trends in breast incidence and risk - and attributes the initial increase in breast cancer incidence to the use of menopausal hormone therapy.

He also reports the significant changes in breast cancer incidence and risk during the last fifteen years, especially among African American and Caucasian women.

Prof Chlebowski emphasises the importance of this data for public health authorities, especially in addressing the relationship between obesity and breast cancer incidence; in which clinical trials are currently underway.
