Prof Mathieu Boniol, Research Director at the International Prevention Research Institute, Lyon, France, talks to ecancertv at the EBCC 9 conference about the effects of exercise upon the rate of breast cancer.

Mathieu's research - the result of a meta-analysis of 37 studies published between 1987 and 2013 and representing over four million women - shows that practising sport for more than an hour a day reduces the risk of contracting breast cancer. This applies to women of any age and any weight, and was unaffected by geographical location.

“We are confident that the results of our analysis are robust” he said.
