Dr Soumitra Datta speaks to ecancer about a special issue on how cancer services are delivered in India.
He explains the large range of topics in the latest issue: oncoplastic breast surgery, outcomes of stage D4B non-curable cancers, head and neck cancers and the communication preferences of professionals.
Dr Datta then discusses the high burden of oral cancers in India. He suggests prevention by tackling the issues of tobacco dependence followed by early diagnosis, and treatment modifications that have been recommended in one of the papers in this special issue.
He concludes by discussing the next steps for improving cancer care delivery in India.
