Dr Ashwin Mehtha speaks to ecancer about cannabis in cancer care and survivorship at the ASCO Direct Highlights Miami Symposium 2021.
Dr Mehtha explains his experience regarding non-pharmacologic methods of improving quality of life both during treatment and in survivorship in cancer care, making a distinction between alternative treatments and evidence-based medicine.
He stresses the importance of creating an environment where patients feel comfortable communicating about what they may be doing non-pharmacologically in order to improve their quality of life, so that they can be given guidance on these choices and offered additional support if necessary.
