Dr Vania Hungria speaks to ecancer about managing multiple myeloma during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She says that, although the pandemic has caused setbacks in cancer care, there are ways to overcome them. She talks first about the problems faced in Brazil post-pandemic and then talks about the general rules that must be followed to overcome some of these problems.
In the end she says she hopes the “new normal” would soon go back to the “old normal” and that doctors must not stop treatment just because of this pandemic. Cancer patients need immediate treatment and care and it cannot be stopped.
