Dr Mona Hassan, a 3rd year internal medicine resident at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut, speaks to ecancer about her new ecancermedicalscience article titled, 'Synchronous invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast and clear cell renal carcinoma with rare presentation and behaviour: a case report with a literature review'.

She describes the case study of a patient with the rare presentation of synchronous invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast and clear cell renal carcinoma.

Dr Hassan details the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and explains the challenges encountered which ultimately led to the death of the patient.

She explains that multiple primary malignancies are a very complex issue and calls for a multidisciplinary approach.
