Prof Christina Peters - Children's Cancer Research Institute, Vienna, Austria

Prof Christina Peters speaks to ecancer in an online interview for the virtual EHA 2020 meeting about the results of the FORUM trial.

The trial compared total body radiation (TBI) with chemotherapy-based conditioning (CC) for children and adolescents with ALL undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

The aim of the study was to see if acute and late toxicities associated with total body irradiation could. beavoided.

Prof Peters reports on the methods and results of the trial, concluding that - due to higher incidents of relapse post-transplantation - they found TBI superior to CC for this patient group.
