Dr Nazik Hammad speaks about her latest publication in ecancermedicalscience.
The paper covers a global survey on the training of oncologists, looking at the equity gap in cancer care, covering both high, and low-middle income countries. This study looks forward rather than investigating the shortages, for example evaluating training, funding, and the presence and quality of oncologists.
Dr Hammad explains why this is an important paper, and that we need think about a greater focus on health professional education.
