Prof Ben Anderson speaks to ecancer at the 2019 CC LMIC meeting about the development of the resource stratified oncology guidelines - created by the Breast Health Global Initiative (BHGI).

He states that the guidelines used in high-income countries do not address the costs and resource requirements and the overall needs of low- and middle-income countries.

Prof Anderson explains the different levels of this approach and gives examples where these can be demonstrated.

He also mentions that a large subset of harmonised guidelines have been successfully developed for Sub-Saharan Africa and describes BHGI's "phased implementation" approach to examine if improvements have taken place.
