Dr Rivinder Mohan speaks to ecancer at the Choosing Wisely: Value added cancer care for India event in Delhi about the work of Can Support in India.
He explains that Can Support's flagship program is free home-based palliative care and that they cover the whole of Delhi, NCR, Amritsar, Bathinda and Meerut.
Dr Mohan adds that Can Support are the biggest providers of home-based care in Northern India and that they cater for around 2500 patients at a particular time.
He also explains that in India there is a great need for home based care as patients generally want to die at home: home-based palliative care provides that option.
