Perspectives on advance care planning for advanced cancer in the Philippines
Dr Christopher Williams speaks to ecancer at the 2019 AORTIC conference in Maputo about the association between cancer and retroviral diseases in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
He describes his experience in observing the first case of adult T-cell leukaemia/lymphoma (ATLL) - which subsequently has been showed to be associated with the human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1).
Dr Williams provides an overview of the type of cancers associated with HIV infections/AIDS and the challenges of controlling these diseases in LMICs.
