Prof Cheng-Har Yip spoke to ecancer at the BGICC 2020 conference in Cairo, Egypt about breast cancer in Malaysia.

After an initial outline of the incidence of breast cancer, Prof Yip highlights the lack of screening for breast cancer in Malaysia.

She then explores some of the cultural and societal barriers towards early detection of breast cancer, and the pushback towards Western medicine leading to late stage diagnoses.

Prof Yip finishes by outlining her research on the unmet needs of metastatic breast cancer patients in Malaysia, including supportive care, palliative care, and informational support.
