Dr Timothy Rebbeck presents his talk on the ‘management of prostate cancer in Africa’ at the "Choosing Wisely Nigeria 2023” congress, held on the 30th of March 2023.



He begins by outlining the known risk factors for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and highlights due to late diagnosis and inadequate treatment, there is a higher mortality rate for men in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr Rebbeck reviews ways to detect and treat cancers such as PSA screening and radiotherapy, however, the lack of resources is a challenge.

He concludes by looking towards the future of different screening and diagnosis strategies for prostate cancer in sub-Saharan Africa.
