Prof Meena Cherian - Senior Advisor, Global Action, SIOG

Prof Meena Cherian speaks to ecancer at the SIOG 2019 meeting in Geneva about the lack of knowledge surrounding cancer care in the ageing population.

She discusses the existing gap in public health education, which needs to focus on raising awareness of cancer care in older patients.

Prof Cherian also discusses why patients in low and middle-income countries do not have access to timely, optimal care.

She concludes by stating the collaborations between the Geneva Foundation and SIOG in developing distance-learning courses to provide education on cancer care in the ageing population, in the context of universal health coverage.
