Dr Marshall Posner of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY, talks to ecancertv at ESMO 2010 about various trials for head and neck cancer: The SPECTRUM trial, a phase 3 trial in 600 patients with recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) receiving chemotherapy with or without panitumumab. Also pemetrexed plus cisplatin. He discusses the potential for increased quality of life and advantageous dosing schedules. Dr Posner also discusses his analysis of HPV positive and negative oropharynx patients: 'Five-year survival (OS) and patterns of failure for human papillomavirus (HPV) positive and negative oropharynx cancer (OPC) in the TAX 324 clinical trial.'
