Dr Carien Creutzberg - Leiden University Medical Center, Netherlands

Dr Creutzberg speaks about her research into adjuvant therapy in the treatment of early stage endometrial cancer. This research investigates the use of vaginal fold brachiotherapy as an alternative to radiotherapy in patients with a high-intermediate risk. Brachiotherapy was shown to be as effective as external beam radiotherapy, had a lower toxicity profile and offered the patients a higher quality of life. Dr Creutzberg goes on to discuss the lack of effective biomarkers for this disease and discusses her plans for future research.
