Speaking to ecancer from the Emerging Perspectives in CRPC (EPiC) meeting at the 3rd Asia Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference (APPCC) in Shanghai, China, Dr Senthil Rajippa, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, India, a meeting delegate, shares his perspective on the meeting, and on how CRPC is managed in India.

He emphasises the importance of having the opportunity to meet peers from other parts of the world, to share ideas, knowledge, challenges and solutions relating to CRPC.  He specifically notes his interest in early prostate cancer management, new drugs in the pipeline and how far we have come in recent years.  Dr Rajippa emphasises the challenges with sequencing and access.

Giving a message to his colleagues in India, Dr Rajippa says that the challenges faced in India are largely those faced in many other countries.  He notes that the meeting has improved his decision-making ability in prostate cancer, and stressed the need to screen patients earlier and to treat patients as individuals.
