Prof Gordon McVie discusses the evolution of the field of medical oncology and the way to break into the field.

Through his personal experience, Prof McVie found that having a mentor greatly played into his decision to become a medical oncologist and to pursue work in the academic field.

Prof McVie notes that the most important thing for any student to have is a curiosity for the subject and a vision on how they can have an impact in the field.
