Dr John Kirawen, a gynaecological surgeon from the Liverpool Women's Hospital, explains the process of entering this specialised field from training in general operations through foundation courses and specialist training. He also highlights his personal experiences in the field and the progress made in treating gynaecological cancer over the past 10 years.
