Prof Danny Rischin - Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia

Dr Danny Rischin talks to ecancer about updated findings from the phase 3 C-POST trial evaluating adjuvant cemiplimab in patients with high-risk cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) following surgery and radiotherapy.

With a median follow-up of 43.8 months, cemiplimab continued to demonstrate a disease-free survival (DFS) benefit versus placebo (HR 0.46). Updated overall survival results also favoured cemiplimab, with a hazard ratio of 0.63.

The interview explores findings from an exploratory circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) analysis, which showed that the DFS benefit of adjuvant cemiplimab was observed regardless of baseline molecular residual disease status. Dr Rischin also discusses the safety findings and the potential clinical implications of these updated results for patients with high-risk CSCC.

These data provide further evidence supporting adjuvant cemiplimab as a treatment option in this setting, while longer follow-up will help clarify the overall survival benefit.
