Prof Sheeba Irshad speaks to ecancer about a panel that she was involved in at London Global Cancer Week 2025 which looked at improving diversity in the participation of clinical trials in the UK.

She explains that the cancer drug development pipeline is not fully representative of the patient population that they go on to serve and that this is an issue all the way through to clinical trials.

Prof Irshad points out that we are not truly practising 'precision oncology' unless we address this issue.
