Dr Peter Adams discusses cellular senescence, chromatin structure and how they impact cancer’s development. Cellular senescence is a proliferation arrest and occurs when a cell is damaged or acquires an activated onco-gene.

Dr Adams’ research works on understanding the mechanisms of cellular senescence and what occurs in the nucleus of a cell; for example why it occurs and how it stops division and regeneration. The goals of understanding this process are to reactivate the senescence programming and prevent further tumour growth.
