Boosting HPV vaccination in India: A call to action
Dr Fabio Landoni talks to ecancertv on his work at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) with young women and cervical cancer. The main goal in cases with young women is to preserve the ability to bare children and for women who are already pregnant, to preserve the pregnancy. Each case has a very specific type of treatment and currently the IEO has 25-30 patients who are free of disease.
Recently, the IEO has revised their protocols for such cases and state their goals as to preserve the uterus and reduce the risk of preterm delivery and need for abortion without increasing morbidity.
