Dr Luis Larrea

Dr. Luis Larrea obtained his medical degree and “Cum Laude” PhD from the Medical School at the University of Valencia, Spain. He completed his Radiation Oncology training at “Hospital Clinico Universitario” in Valencia, Spain in 1987.

Dr. Larrea is the Chief of the Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery Department at Hospital Vithas Valencia Consuelo, Valencia, Spain.

Dr. Larrea was the President of the “Sociedad Española de Radiocirugía” from 2006 to 2014. He was the founder of the “Sociedad Latino-Iberoamericana de Radiocirugía” and currently serves as a board member.

He has expertise in Radiation Oncology in the areas of lung cancer, brain tumours, prostate cancer and other malignancies. He has special interest in extreme hypo fractionation in Radiation Therapy and Immunotherapy. He was the first Radiation Oncologist in Spain to use SRS in 1983 and SBRT in 2001 for the treatment for early
and metastatic Cancer. Dr Larrea has been recognized by the Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery societies of the Spain for his large contribution implementing the newest technologies in Radiation Therapy in his country, including SRS and SBRT.

Dr. Larrea is board certified in Radiation Oncology. He is member and serves on several committees at Sociedad Latino-Iberoamericana, Sociedad Espanola de Radiocirugia, SEOR, ASTRO, SER, RSS, ABS. He is member and has served on several QA committees in Spain. Dr Larrea has publications in SRS and SBRT. He has given numerous oral presentations and lectures in national and international meetings in Europe, North America and Latin America.
