Dr Gultekin is a gynaecologic oncologist working in Zekai Tahir Burak Maternity Hospital in Ankara, Turkey. He also functions as the director of the Projects Unit of Cancer Control Department of the Turkish Ministry of Health and also as a cancer expert for the Turkish Parliament Cancer Research Council. He organizes palliative care and cancer screening services to be distributed widely across the country. He has published numerous articles in cancer prevention, epidemiology and gynaecologic oncology. He is an executive board member of the European Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (ESGO), European Network of Young Gynaecologic Oncologists (ENYGO, also founder), Middle East Cancer Consortium (MECC) Palliative Care Committee, Women Against Cervical Cancer (WACC) Society, Asian Pacific Organization for Cancer Prevention (APOCP) and Blacksea Countries Coaltion for Cervical and Breast Cancers.
