European Multidisciplinary Conference in Thoracic Oncology (EMCTO)
24 - 26 Feb 2011
Palazzo dei Congressi, Lugano, Switzerland
The European Multidisciplinary Conference in Thoracic Oncology (EMCTO), is organized in partnership between the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO), the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS).
Despite the fact that chest tumours are difficult to treat, major advances have been made in areas such as the testing of EGFR mutations, the use of targeted therapies in advanced non smallcell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the establishment of adjuvant chemotherapy in completely resected NSCLC or prophylactic cranial irradiation in SCLC, and improvements in radiotherapy and surgery techniques.
Experts of the various disciplines will discuss these advances and provide a multidisciplinary overview and update of current state-of-the-art management of patients with thoracic malignancies.
