The International Congress on Oncological Perspectives of Fertility Preservation: Gynecological & Breast Cancer
21 - 23 Mar 2013
TBD, Berlin, Germany
Preservation of fertility has recently become a very important objective in gynecologic oncology. This is the result of both the rising incidence of gynecologic cancer in young patients and the increasing age at first pregnancy. Today, in young patients with gynecologic cancer, fertility preservation is possible and depends primarily on the extent and type of cancer.
Optimal patient management should include a clear decision-making process, adequate counseling about the future oncological and obstetrical risks, appropriate management, and careful follow-up within a multidisciplinary setting.
