The North of England ASK Cancer Conference
12 - 13 Sep 2012
Hilton Hotel, Blackpool, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The North of England ASK Cancer Conference takes place on September 12 and 13 at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool, and is being supported by a number of local Cancer organisations. The chosen conference charity will be the Rosemere Foundation Cancer Trust, who will benefit from any monies raised from the Gala Dinner.
Among the speakers will be Derek Stewart OBE, a member of the Department of Health’s Cancer Reform Strategy Advisory Board; Dr Stephen Parsons, Director, National Cancer Action Team; Wendy Lewis-Cordwell, Macmillan Network Bereavement Co-ordinator; Dawn Green, a Rare Cancer Patient and Ruth Bridgeman, Programme Manager, National Cancer Peer Review.
The conference will be a mix of interactive workshops and formal presentations. There will be a selection of topics for open dialogue including Self-Help and Support; Research and New Treatments; The Organisation of Cancer Services; and Questions for the Future.
Also appearing at the conference and in Blackpool for the first time will be the iVAN from the Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer Network which is the only service of its kind in the country, and is used as a cancer awareness, information and support service. The vehicle goes into the heart of communities working with local groups and charities.
The good news for Patients, Carers and Family is that a two day conference pass will be offered at no charge. The Healthcare Professionals who take advantage of the early bird offer will pay a reduced cost for a two day pass - both packages include lunch & coffee.
