Prof Hesham El-Ghazaly speaks to ecancer as part of the BGICC 2021 meeting about a talk he presented on escalation and descalation in neoadjuvant time to treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
He explains that in TNBC the pathological complete response is very important to outcomes which is why a lot of effort has been to enhance it through treatment choice and dose density or intensity.
Prof El-Ghazaly also discusses response-adjusted processes where it may not be necessary to give chemotherapy where small tumours are concerned.
