Prof László Tabár speaks to ecancer about the second talk he is presenting at this year’s virtual BGICC 2021. It is about the necessity of a new way of thinking regarding the origin of breast cancer and how early breast cancer should be treated.
He says that the old histopathology techniques should be changed by large section histopathology techniques. He says the terminology is also out-dated and needs to be changed.
Prof Tabár further explains why highlighting the site of origin of the tumour is important when thinking of treatment options for the tumour. In the end, he gives an important message to other oncologists about changing their perspectives when dealing with breast cancer and paying equal importance to tumour type, site and size.
