Dr Geraldo Alves speaks to ecancer about the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, and managing cancer patients at this time.
He initially discusses the current trends in his region of Brazil, but emphasises that in such a big country the situation is not homogenous.
Dr Alves also outlines his experience with the use of hydroxychloroquine, and some of the latest research regarding the use of this drug for coronavirus.
Please note that in April 2020 when this video was recorded, doctors were looking for any therapy which might help covid patients in an emergency setting. Since then some research has shown evidence that does not support the use of hydroxychloroquine.
