Prostate cancer
Dr Helen Boyle speaks to ecancer at the SIOG 2019 meeting in Geneva about applying the clinical trial data available in prostate cancer to the elderly population.
She describes how these patients are screened and the challenges associated with classifying them according to their health status.
She details the recent changes to the SIOG guidelines and how these will improve the clinical management of these patients.
Dr Boyle discusses how these guidelines can be implemented in low-to-middle income settings, along with continued collaboration between geriatricians and oncologists to ensure elderly patients receive optimal care.
