Dr Mariam Jamal-Hanjani speaks to ecancer at ESMO 2018 about the PEACE (Posthumous Evaluation of Advanced Cancer Environment) study which looks at metastatic tissue samples from recently deceased patients.

She outlines some of the genetic patterns emerging from early data, and what this might suggest for drivers of metastatic progression and treatment.

Dr Jamal-Hanjani also outlines the work on an individual patient level, by analysing their treatment history and observing the status of the tumour post death.

She finalises by exploring further the idea of biobanking and the potential vault of data that could be exploited through this method.
