Dr Christian Berg talks to ecancertv about the heightened cardiovascular risk found in acromegaly patients and outlines the factors that contribute to this. Acromegaly patients are more likely to suffer heart disease or myocardial infarction; however, this risk can be reduced using treatments such as pegvisomant. Dr Berg discusses the extent to which this treatment could benefit acromegaly patients and explains how other common symptoms should be addressed.
