Prof Frédéric Amant - Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium

Prof Amant presents results from an ongoing, observational, case-control study at an ECC 2015 press conference revealing that women who are diagnosed with cancer during their pregnancy can start treatment immediately.

The study findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (doi: 10.1056/NEJMoa1508913), also show that women do not need to terminate their pregnancy because of worries about the effects of cancer therapy on the development of their child.
