Prostate cancer
Dr Durán presents his talk "From clinical trial to clinical practice: Evidence from the real world" at EIKCS 2014. He discusses the real-world differences which make medical practice different to the controlled atmosphere of as clinical trial, noting things such as frailty, ethnic differences, differences in patient's commitment to the treatment programme, and less surveillance and monitorting.
Specifically, he looks at the first-line use of pazopanib and concludes that there needs to be greater awareness of patients under-represented in trials.
GlaxoSmithKline fully provided for the costs of this symposium, honoraria for the chairs & speakers and provided input into the symposium agenda/content.
