Prof Martin Wermke - National Center for Tumor Diseases, Dresden, Germany

Prof Martin Wermke speaks to ecancer about results from the Phase Ia RevSTAR-123 study evaluating AVC-201-01, a switchable allogeneic CD123-targeted CAR-T therapy, in patients with relapsed, refractory, or MRD-positive acute myeloid leukaemia.

He explains that this off-the-shelf CAR-T platform is designed to overcome challenges associated with autologous CAR-T therapies in AML while allowing treatment activity to be controlled through a bispecific adaptor molecule.

Prof Wermke reports a favourable safety profile, with no treatment-related mortality, neurotoxicity, or graft-versus-host disease observed.

He states that anti-leukaemic activity was seen at the highest dose levels, including complete remissions, MRD conversions, and ongoing responses.
