Dr Cesaltina Ferreira Lorenzoni speaks to ecancer about the AORTIC presidency plan (2025–2027), which focuses on strengthening cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and palliative care across Africa by building local capacity and forming sustainable partnerships.

Dr Lorenzoni says that the focus is on increasing collaboration among governments, academia, civil society, and private partners.

It presents a vision for building local capacity, advancing collaborative research, influencing policy, and fostering sustainable partnerships to reduce the cancer burden and improve equity in access to care. 

Some of the key priorities include enhancing governance, improving workforce development, advancing research, advocating for policy impact, and fostering partnerships, with a goal to establish a leading platform for cancer control by 2027.
