Burden and trends of breast cancer worldwide: Opportunities for prevention?
To help improve the quality of breast cancer care globally, a collaboration of leading partners has created the Grand Rounds in Breast Cancer series of educational webinars. This session with ecancer enables learners the opportunity to discuss controversies, real-life challenges and effective application of existing knowledge.
In this edition Dr Luzia Travado (Champalimaud Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal), Dr Christina Signorelli (University of New South Wales, Kensington, Australia), Dr Beverley Lim Høeg (Danish Cancer Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark) presents their talks on breast cancer survivorship.
Breast cancer survivorship involves understanding quality care initiatives and the roles of participants. Survivors face various challenges, including physical and psychosocial issues, necessitating ongoing support. The agenda includes historical context and guidelines, with the IOM report highlighting the transition to long-term care. Digital tools and resources are essential for patient support, symptom tracking, and equitable care, while collaboration with patient organizations is crucial for tailored solutions.
