Dr Chris Williams - University of Washington, Seattle, USA

One of the founding members of AORTIC, Dr Williams discusses the history of AORTIC from its start in the 1980's and its rebuilding in the early 1990's with American cancer organisations. In addition Dr Williams talks about the progress made in recent years and how his own research has continued since AORTIC's development.

Currently he is researching childhood leukaemia and the epidemiology of the disease, focusing on how the most common type of child leukaemia is very rare in adults. This finding, which is believed to be because of environmental factors, will lead to better treatment methods in both adult and childhood cancers.
