Dr Omar AbdiHamid shares a talk on Choosing Wisely Africa at AORTIC 2023, overviewing the various conferences that have taken part across Africa and East Asia.

Choosing Wisely Africa is an initiative that seeks to advance a dialogue on avoiding unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures in cancer care in Africa.

He highlights the differences in care in high-income countries and low/middle-income countries despite the evidence being the same, and how that links with CWA's aims.

He concludes by discussing ways to select more cost-effective and high-value treatments.
