Dr Fatia Kiyange speaks to ecancer about using advocacy lessons from other fields of health and human rights to advance universal health coverage (UHC) and cancer prevention and control, including palliative care.

Dr Kiyange says that advocacy lessons learnt from the other fields of health and human rights, such as how HIV has been dealt with in Africa can help improve cancer care in Uganda.

She describes some of the challenges to the advancement of universal health coverage (UHC) and cancer prevention and control in Uganda and how they can be overcome.

Although the treatment of some disease areas is gaining improvement in Uganda, cancer prevention and control, including palliative care needs more advancement. 

Dr Kiyange concludes by talking about the future plans for improving cancer care in Uganda.
